JOHN 12: 26, If
any one would serve Me, he must continue to follow Me - to cleave steadfastly to
Me, conform wholly to My example, in living and if need be in dying - and
wherever I am, there will My servant be also. If any one serves Me, the Father
will honor him.
Father
has called us into a leadership role. He is using us to call things forth from
the Bride of Christ that He needs in our churches. We need to act like a Bride
first, being ready in and out of season. It is our destiny to be in this
position! This walk is not about "me" but rather all about Him. So, Lord help
us, to not to lose our focus.
We
need to step into our place, not worry about someone else's place, but rather
get on with the calling on our own lives. Proverbs 27: 23, Be
diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds....
Father has told me to know the sheep, to value them and to love them. Be
Christ to them. Father has called us to this flock and we are not to look and
compare with other flocks, but rather be faithful where He has positioned us.
If we glance at other churches we will get distracted and off Father’s plans and
purposes for where He has gently set us down.
What
is my purpose? My purpose is to be the best pastor’s wife I can be. I am
called to undergird my husband in prayer, tend to his needs, pray faithfully for
him, love him, live in harmony with him, be a woman of excellence for him, a
helpmeet, his beloved, esteem him, submit and honor him. Then as in
Philippians 2: 3, regard Him as better than, think more highly of Him, than
myself.
People
are watching us all the time. I pray they see Jesus in me. Do you love the
flock as God intends? Do you take offense with them? Do you feel you could do
a particular job better than them and end up doing it yourself? Do you talk
about these little lambs with your spouse, possibly pulling them down, being
critical? Father is calling us to be on the defensive for these ones He has
purposed us to tend to. Too often we come against one another when we need to
be fighting against the things that drive us apart. “Love them and trust Him”
should be our motto. I know how it hurts when the sheep bite, keep in mind they
think that we are biting them also. It is so difficult for me when you carry
them in your arms, pray for them, direct them, love them, hold them, cry with
them and the all of a sudden they jump out of your arms and run away. Loving
them and trusting Father is the only way get through these difficult times. To
me it is rejection and I have to deal with that as well. Abiding in love, needs
to be a lifestyle for me. I have found that walking in love is fun, as long as
I keep my focus fixed. When my focus moves, then my thoughts move in the wrong
direction. What we hunger for will influence those under our leadership. When
they see us hungering after Love, Peace, Righteousness and Joy they will come to
know who we are all about, JESUS!
I've
studied where the women of old did not allow things to get in the way of their
service to Father. They longed, hungered and desired to be next to the Lord,
close to hear His voice. I too can experience this devotion if I am preoccupied
and fascinated with Jesus, in awe and wonderment of Him. This is His desire for
me as a pastor’s wife.
This
is where I am going and I hope that I can stir you to go with me. We need to
keep focused, be preoccupied and fascinated with Jesus. Pray at all times.
Don’t do so much talking about situations and problems with one another but pray
the solutions. Prayer nourishes us. We become strengthened with the life of
God. We must pray and speak blessings over the flock.
John 17: 26, I have made Your Name known to them and revealed Your character and
Your very Self, and I will continue to make [you] known, that the love which You
have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [myself]
may be in them.
